Fiber optic swivel joints, also known as optical slip rings, are a special type of slip rings that transmit optical signals. Featuring high transmission speed, long service life and high reliability, fiber optic rotary joints are widely used in various applications. JINPAT Electronics, as a pioneer in slip ring manufacturing, has accumulated extensive experience in slip ring R&D. And JINPAT takes a step forward in conducting independent research and development on optical slip ring. JINPAT Electronics is now capable of producing fiber optic swivel joints in large volumes. JINPAT is also capable of producing single-mode optical slip rings within 5 channels and multi-mode optical slip rings within 10 channels on a relatively small scale.
Coming back to our topic today, fiber optic swivel couplings are actually special optical components with high precision machining and high technology. So the cost of optical slip ring is comparatively higher than ordinary slip rings. And they are mainly used in high-end electronic products. One of the most daily applications is underwater robots. In order to obtain operational control of the rovers and signal transmission, optical slip ring is installed in the system.
Currently, fiber optic rotary interconnects are mainly used in optical energy processing devices. Laser device manufacturers prefer optical slip rings. And most of them are multi-channel optical slip rings. As for laser cutting and multi-axis processing devices, multi-channel single-mode optical rotary coupling is preferred. In addition to laser processing equipment, many industrial plants require optical slip rings to replace traditional electrical slip rings. For example, some heavy industry machines operating in dusty environments need an optical slip ring to provide safer signal transmission. And in the field of marine construction, devices such as underwater rovers and offshore winches also use fiber optic rotary interconnects to provide rotary data and signal transmission. Meanwhile, integration with an electrical slip ring is better.
In fact, optical slip rings are less visible in everyday life. However, for high-end surveillance cameras, optical slip ring is the best solution for real-time signal transmission and high transmission speed.
