With the continuous pursuit of energy efficiency, various types of vessels are increasingly adopting electric propulsion systems to reduce energy consumption. In line with this trend, the application of low-power outboard electric propulsion systems as the main propulsion system is increasing. In these outboard electric propulsion systems, slip rings are indispensable core components. As a well-known slip ring manufacturer, JINPAT has consistently led the industry in researching slip rings for outboard electric propulsion systems. The development of electric propulsion system technology has opened up huge market opportunities for JINPAT.
Compared with small electrical equipment in other industries, even small-scale outboard electric propulsion systems used for inland waterway shipping generally have rated powers in the hundreds of kilowatts. These propulsion systems are primarily suitable for small-tonnage main transport vessels. To meet the needs of these inland waterway vessels, JINPAT has developed a specialized 200kW slip ring series. This series includes two categories: the ultra-compact type, represented by LPA000-06200-0618-44S-01A-05L, and the standard carbon brush with integrated slip ring, represented by LPA000-06200-0618-44S-01A-06L. The main functional difference between the two products is the number of pneumatic and hydraulic channels.
Among them, LPA000-06200-0618-44 S01 A05 L is an ultra-compact high-protection slip ring for outboard motors. Even without taking into account the height of the PG connection, the overall height of this product is only 1117 mm with a stator housing size of 340 x 320 mm. What is remarkable is that this slip ring is not only compact in size, but also has an IP65 protection rating. In contrast, the LPA 000-06200-0618-44S-01A-06 has an IP54 protection rating. Although this slip ring has a lower protection rating, JINPA’s design team, with its exceptional technical experience, successfully met this challenge and developed a comprehensive design that meets the requirements of compactness, multi-channel, high protection and high power transmission.
In addition to developing slip rings for small power plants, JINPAT has rich experience in developing products in the field of slip rings for power plants with a capacity of less than 5MW. Currently, JINPAT has successfully developed various models of slip rings with single-channel currents of 1000A, 2000A and 4000A with rated voltages of 690V, 1000V and 3300V respectively for customers. Similar to the 200kW slip rings, these slip rings also consist of pneumatic and hydraulic modules, ultra-high power modules and ordinary electrical signal modules. These three modules work independently and are designed with a high degree of physical isolation to ensure that high currents during operation do not interfere with electrical signals.
