There are many types of fire engines. According to the medium and function, they can be divided into water tank fire engine, foam fire engine, dry powder fire engine, ladder fire engine, etc. And in the fire truck, the key component is the electrical contact ring. JINPAT Electronics, a historical slip ring manufacturer, has developed dozens of slip rings for fire engines.
JINPAT’s through-hole fire engine slip rings are mainly installed on ladder fire engines. The hollow shaft design facilitates the installation of various pipe sizes. Since this type of fire engine has to pass a large amount of foam or water, the pipes usually have a large diameter. And to integrate such pipes, the diameter of JINPAT through-hole slip rings for the fire truck is more than 120 mm.
Now let’s look at a single customer case from JINPAT Electronics. LPTS120-0330-0402- 14S and LPTS120-0230-16S are two good examples. Meanwhile, these two through fire engine slip rings have the highest annual production volume among all fine engine models. Because the fine engine system only supports 24VAC, the power channel and signal channel also have the same operating voltage. And this operating voltage is a common point among vehicle slip rings.
As for the slip ring with the largest bore diameter, the typical model is LPTS175-0440-14S-E2. The bore diameter is 180 mm. Unlike the model with 120mm center hole, this integrated slip ring provides more current with 1 additional channel. Generally speaking, the fire truck slip ring integrates CAN signal, RS signal and video signal in the signal module. And such a function requires a different type of cables. There are CAN cables for CAN signals. In terms of power and other signals, FLRY-B cables are preferred. And for video signals, coaxial cables are used.
On the JINPAT LPTS175-0440-14S-E2, the signal unit integrates one 100 meter Ethernet link. Upon request, JINPAT can provide integrated slip ring solutions that can transmit 100M Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet signals simultaneously. And to ensure the stability and reliability of our slip ring product in harsh environments, JINPAT Electronics has made some adjustments to the shockproof design. Thus, the protection degree of JINPAT’s through slip ring product LPTS120-0230-16S reaches IP67.
