Different voltage and current capacities also mean that the size and structure of the respective slip rings will differ. For ground transportation equipment, most models are based on slip rings with through holes. One typical application example is the custom-made JINPAT slip ring with through-hole for a fire truck. As for offshore and marine construction machinery, slip rings are typically hollow and hulled, which can provide better protection for the slip ring assembly. The latter type of slip ring is also maintenance-free, high power and long service life.
