In the JINPAT product series, split slip rings are coded LPS. Due to design constraints, their application area is very specific and limited. Therefore, the number of standard models in this series is relatively small. As for products with channels 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, and 24, split slip rings have a significant design difference from other types of slip rings. They have no housing, and the brushes and copper rings of both the stationary and rotating parts are open. This characteristic determines that they can only be installed in some enclosed appliances or equipment with good protection measures.
Aviation equipment requires a large number of slip rings such as radar, satellite antennas and aviation instruments represented by attitude indicators, horizon gyros, navigation balloons and heading gyros. Among these aviation instruments, split slip rings are mostly used, except for some ultra-miniature slip rings. For example, LPS-12A, a split slip ring, was originally designed according to the needs of aviation instruments, so it can be directly installed in orientation indicators, horizon gyros and navigation balloons.
In addition to standard products such as the LPS-12A, there are also many aviation devices that require special split slip rings, such as extending the wire brushes or reducing the core rod diameter, etc. Therefore, special split slip rings need to be individually selected according to the actual conditions. In the product sets provided by JINPAT for the aviation instrumentation field, the vast majority are based on standard products such as LPS-12A, and there are a few large-scale customized products. The specialized split slip rings provided by JINPAT for the aviation instrumentation field are installed on aviation communications equipment, not instruments.
IPS095-0203-30S is the most representative individual separated slip ring supplied by JINPAT for aviation communication equipment. Due to the design limitations of the standard separated series slip rings, the maximum voltage they can support does not exceed 240 VAC. In dry aviation applications, the actual operating voltage of this product is mainly below 48 VAC. Thus, this product is also a weak electrical product with a very low design operating voltage. The rotor through-hole diameter of LPS095-0203-30S slip ring rotor reaches 95mm, the outer diameter is 18mm, and the height is 85mm. In terms of volume, it can be considered as a giant among the weak electrical disconnected slip rings.
