A slip ring can be used in any electromechanical system that requires unrestrained, continuous rotation in the transfer of power and/or data from a fixed to a rotating structure. A slip ring is also referred to as a rotating electrical interface, switch, manifold, pivot, or rotating joint.

The LPT096 is a commercial slip ring capsule with a through hole diameter of 96 mm and a compact outer diameter of 86 mm. The through hole provides space for routing hydraulics, pneumatics or for mounting on a concentric shaft. This slip ring is available in four lengths (depending on the number of circuits required). For each 15 amp circuit, configurations are available with 6, 12, 18 and 24 rings in four housing lengths. This “stacked module” approach allows us to quickly assemble the exact number and type of circuits our customers require. Similar in design to our very popular LPT096 series, this design features durable, fiber brush contact technology for maximum performance in many demanding applications.

The LPT096 uses fiber brush technology, which has several advantages over conventional slip rings, including multiple contact points per brush bundle, low contact force per fiber, and low contact wear rate. In addition, fiber brushes require no lubrication and produce virtually no debris when worn.
